Pictor’s honest note: those three prices sit on a countdown timer that reads the same “1d 23h 59m” on every fresh load, so treat $49/$79/$149 as the price you pay today, not a deadline. On the headline monthly number they are competitive, and at the mid tier they are cheaper than us.

Their pricing page carries no dollar figure, and their help centre says packs are bought by volume in the dashboard, bigger packs costing less per credit. Pictor’s honest note: if you need a native desktop booth app — not a browser tab — they ship one and we don’t. On 360, Mirror and roaming they have dedicated modes and we don’t support those formats at all. If any of those is core to your business they are the better fit today, full stop. One detail before you buy on the GlamBot promise: it is listed as one of their twelve booth modes, but their own plan table puts Cinematic GlamBot mode on the $149/mo Ultimate AI tier only.
Fact check: the 5.0 badges and “120+ AI effects, on every plan”
The 5.0 store badges. Their pricing page shows 5.0 “operator-rated” badges for the App Store, Play Store and Microsoft Store. The US App Store listing for AI Photo Booth Pro says the app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview; the UK storefront is the same. Where ratings do exist, Turkey and Poland, the average is 5.0 — from four ratings and one rating. The rating isn’t wrong. The published numbers just don’t support reading those badges as a large, well-rated install base; their iOS app is new, version 3.4.2 shipped 19 August 2026. Their on-site review wall shows 28 reviews, and their help centre carries an article titled “Leave a review and earn credits”. We have no store ratings to show you either, so this is a note on how to read a badge, not a point we are scoring.
“120+ AI effects, on every plan.” That line sits in their comparison table against “typical booth apps”, on the same page as the plan-differences table that lists “120+ AI styles & Create Your Own” as Not included on Starter. Their published numbers don’t support “every plan”. Comparing entry tiers, compare our $49 Basic against their $79 Pro AI.
What does Pictor do that Activation King doesn’t?
- AI from $49/mo. Basic includes AI Presets and the AI Library; Pro ($99/mo) adds the Custom Prompt Editor, digital props and background removal; Premium ($149/mo) adds AI video. Their first AI tier is $79/mo. The flip side, plainly: generations cost extra on both platforms, and on Pictor every AI action costs tokens, presets included.
- DSLR and mirrorless tethering on Pro and Premium (from $99/mo; not on Basic). Theirs is desktop-app only, so DSLR plus iPad isn’t a combination they run.
- Mix-and-match licence types on one account, each with its own renewal date — Basic for a print-only wedding, Premium for a corporate AI-video activation. They sell one tier per subscription covering two devices.
- Emergency phone support on every plan. When something breaks at 11 PM on a Saturday you can call us, on Basic as well as Enterprise. Their published support is multilingual email, online channels and live chat, with priority support an Ultimate AI feature; their homepage says 24/7 support in your language, but no phone number is published.
- No clock on your evaluation. 25 free tokens on signup, then build and test as long as you need with no card; a paid plan is required for live events. Theirs is a 14-day trial with 100 AI credits, watermarked outputs, and a clock that runs whether you use it or not.
- Built by an operator. Pictor is built and used by OutSnapped, a working photo booth business, at real events every weekend. Activation King comes from Harikalar, an Istanbul creative agency founded in 2006 that packaged its brand-activation work into a SaaS platform in 2023. Both teams know live events; ours is on the floor with the same software you would be.
Paywall fees, for the record
Pictor’s Paywall feature (guests pay to access or download their content) charges 10% on Pro, 5% on Premium, and 2% with the Enterprise add-on. It is not available on Basic. Activation King takes no platform cut on QR or Stripe Terminal payments; the money goes straight to your own Stripe account. This one is not a Pictor advantage. If paid access is a real part of your model, price both out.
